New York, NY, (June 9, 2021) – The Fifty Best has once again shined its spotlight on gin by hosting a tasting where 65 contenders were evaluated for the distinguished “Best Gin” awards for 2021.
The Fifty Best is very pleased to announce that Wingman Gin was awarded a Gold medal.
Using professional criteria, the pre-qualified panel of judges blind-tasted the gins and rated them individually on a 1-5 point scoring system with 5 being the highest. After tallying the scores, medals were awarded based on the judges' impressions.
The Wingman Gin was the only Colorado spirit to be awarded in this tasting.

Wingman Gin was released by 1350 Distilling in April 2020 amidst the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is dedicated to the men and women of the United States Air Force. Made from Colorado sugar beets, the Wingman Gin is considered a “modern” gin with a lighter juniper flavor compared to more traditional gins.
“We call it a Colorado Dry Gin,” said Phillip Bragg, head distiller and partner at 1350 Distilling. “As with all of our products, we like to challenge the common assumptions people have of a spirit and provide a more overall pleasing version that, hopefully, changes their perspective for the better.”
Using sugar beets as the base ingredient is also a change, but the outcome is delightfully pleasing and now, award-winning. Wingman Gin is officially "gluten free" and a Colorado Proud product.
