The classic daiquiri is one of the simplest cocktails to make; consisting of rum, lime juice and simple syrup. The Mutiny is based on this cocktail but with a little extra flavor. Instead of a simple syrup, we use a "South Seas Blend" syrup made by Monin which has papaya, mango and other fruit flavors. We include egg whites to make a richer, foamy, smooth liquid which we highly recommend with shaken fruit juice cocktails like a whiskey sour or daiquiri.
"The Dry Shake"
Want more foamy froth for a greater tastebud and mouthfeel experience? Not shown in the video, but something we do in our Taste Lounge is something called "The Dry Shake". Hold off on putting any ice into your shaker. Add the ingredients and give that a solid shake. This technique mixes the ingredients at room temperature, which allows the mixture to emulsify, which produces more aeration and a thicker foam.
Add your ice after a dry shake, to chill the drink. Shake again. Strain, pour and enjoy.
