GREAT THINGS IN 2023 - PAST AND FUTURE

Updated: Mar 1

JANUARY THROUGH FEBRUARY:

We made the top three finalists for the Gazette’s Best of the Springs for the following awards thanks to the best supporters in town:

  • Best Distillery

  • Best Cocktail (The Liberator)

  • Best Bathroom

We fell short in the Best Veteran Owned Business, but arguable, we have amazing competition in this category and hope to achieve this high honor of being recognized for our efforts in our community.

Since 2023 has started we have had all kinds of fun with a wide variety of locals including our Angel Battalion Q1 Nonprofit Focus, Honor Flight of Southern Colorado. A percentage of every bottle sold in our Taste Lounge is being donated to this charity. They just announced their all women tour that departs on April 20th. More details below in our listing of events. Honor Flight takes WWII, Korean, Vietnam, and terminally ill veterans on an all expense paid tour of Washington DC’s memorials honoring their service.

January through February we have made donations to the following organizations:

We had a number of nonprofit, private and small businesses making use of our space. Do you have an event or group that needs a cool space for your next meeting? Then complete our online room rental request form and let’s start talking about how we can make it work at 1350 Distilling.

EXCITING NEWS TO COME SOON:

  1. We will be offering our in-house bitters for sale in the oncoming months. There are five flavors, each named after a different fighter plane. We use them now in a number of our fine craft cocktails and can’t wait to share them with you for your home bar.

  2. We have an amazing small batch of 100% Rye Whiskey getting ready to bottle. We are calling it “First Strike”. More details to come. This was a collaboration with Mash Mechanix Brewing Co next door in EaDo CoS.

What is EaDo CoS?

Translated: East Downtown Colorado Springs - “The Oldest New Neighborhood” of our beloved city, Colorado Springs.

The word is out about The Olympic City’s blue skies, amazing trails and mountains, supportive community, and growing food, beer and spirits establishments. Many Colorado Springs residents have driven right through EaDo CoS, but are now starting to find more and more reasons to stop.

We welcome the new neighbors arriving and remind the existing residents that we are “The Oldest New Neighborhood” with so much to offer.

Things have been changing in our sesquicentennial city. The cranes in the sky indicate growth all around town, but few more than East Pikes Peak Avenue. In the past five years, new businesses have sprouted in between some long-time operational shops.

Tourists and locals are fully aware of the shops, restaurants, bars, and landmark buildings of Downtown Colorado Springs from Cascade to Nevada, but there is a flourishing community just to the east of all that with just as much to offer visitors and residents, alike. We are a beautiful pocket of creativity, ingenuity, and community where more and more Springs residents are starting to discover the treasures unknown before. This is where we reside, work, and play.

Where is Eado Cos?

EaDo CoS is contained Platte Avenue south to Costilla Avenue, and from Nevada Street east to Institute Street. It contains some of the oldest streets and buildings in Colorado Springs, as well as some of the newest.
