1350 Distilling of Colorado Springs, Colorado announced today that the new business will be donating $451.91 split among three non-profit charitable organizations. Mt. Carmel Veteran Service Center, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Colorado Springs, and Project Angel Heart will each receive $150.64 this week. The money was collected in 1350 Distilling’s Taste Room and HQ at 520 E. Pikes Peak Avenue in Colorado Springs on Friday, November 8th during the distillery’s “Charity Night”. The evening was one of four events scheduled for 1350 Distilling’s Grand Opening weekend celebration specifically planned to coincide with the Veteran Day Weekend.
“We invited Colorado Springs organizations here tonight that have a special place in all of our hearts for different reasons. We encourage you to talk with them and learn about the great services they provide our community,” 1350 Distilling partner-owner, Abbie Weien told the crowd of guests, “13.50% of our sales today are going to our three sponsored organizations, so please, drink-up, take a bottle home, and help support them!”
The three organizations had tables and informative hand-outs for the guests from 5-7pm, but sales for the entire day were included in the funding drive.
The Grand Opening weekend also included a first ever “Trivia Night” and an all day celebration on Saturday with door prizes, food trucks, Combat Jeepers of Colorado jeeps on display, Pikes Ride bicycles, and over 185 veterans visitors in attendance with over 380 years of collective service. On Sunday over 50 Marines and their families attended the first ever 1350 Distilling United States Marine Corps Birthday Ceremony with great fanfare and camaraderie.
